Flipbook

A flipbook, or flick book, is a primitive form of animation that consists in a booklet with pages containing images that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly,  the images simulate movement. Invented in 1865 by John Barnes Linnett, based on investigations carried out by Joseph Plateau on luminous impressions on the retina.
